Listening in Time

(short story,  by Sha’Tara)

“I know you are keen, and willing.  Good traits in a researcher.  But you are missing the key ingredients.  You must sit quietly, by yourself, for hours, maybe days, and listen in time.  Listen to the voices of the dead, and the pre-incarnate.  They are in the voices of “others” and in the sounds of the earth: the wind, the cracking soil, the moving grains of sand, the patter of the rain on scrabbly hard-pan soil.  They come on the heat waves.  Sometimes they get playful and paint mirages which tell stories from within your own heart and soul which your tired and bleary eyes will translate into images of desires.

If you do not learn to listen, all you will accomplish in these places as you sift through dirt and rubble is collect garbage.  It will be recognizable as works of the people but it will reveal no stories, no myths, no history.  These you will have to create from your own imagination and trust me on this, it will not be the same stories as what was, even if the entire world should buy your interpretations.  Honest archaeologists are a rare breed but there is nothing written, either in this desert or in mountains, that says you can not be one of that small group.  When you teach yourself the secret of time listening the people who made and used the objects you unearth, they will tell you their stories.  Some will seem strange and some will be, to your modern understanding, quite unbelievable, but just listen.  It is not your call to re-interpret the lives of others according to your current knowledge: that is sacrilege.  Let the ghosts speak; let them tell their story, and accept it at face value.  It may be that they lie to you, but let it be: do not add insult to injury by adding to the lies.  After all, as you will discover in time, all of your history is lies.  There is no truth to be found on this world, or in this universe.  We know, we’ve been looking for millions of your years and there is no such chimera.”

I was young then, and I’d been experimenting with the local flora under the auspices of a would-be witch doctor who called himself George but whose real name was an unpronounceable Mexican word that sounded like apple-cotle or aptly cotli.  This particular drug induced “time dreams” he had told me, and… “You should only smoke a small amount at sunset.  Sit against a rock, or a tree if you can find one, and set your mind free to roam.  Do not try anything, just let it all go.  It is the time of the spirits and sometimes one of them will notice you and approach you with a story, or some advice.  Just listen and do not try to make any judgment about what you hear, or think you hear.  Put your own thoughts aside and just absorb.”

I smoked slowly, not eagerly, trying to practice “wisdom” in my folly.  How long I sat against the rock that dug into my back, feeling the sand getting cold beneath me, I don’t know.  Darkness came and the sky exploded with myriads of pin-points of lights: star, planets, meteors, even satellites and flashing lights of planes.  Time passed and I no longer felt the cold, nor the loneliness or that deep fear of the dark unknown.  I “slept” with eyes open, hearing and learning to listen.  I heard small animals squeaking to one-another, some unrecognizable insects repeating endless calls; owls, even one loud shriek of what could only be some wild cat, cougar perhaps.  It didn’t matter.

It seemed as if I’d become a part of the landscape, an extension of the rock I leaned against.  I felt a deep well-being; a thoroughly unfamiliar certainty.  I was “here” and “here” was where I belonged.  This was “home” like nothing had ever been.  “Here I sit, and here I remain,” I thought, against all common sense.  I felt the cold, hunger and thirst but it did not matter to this “me” that was being absorbed by the land, the air, the sky, the universe, the cosmos.  In that time I was no longer a body-centered, or physical being.  I was a member of the cosmic races, with a part of me resting upon a planet called earth – a very small, very strange planet.

That’s when the voice came to my mind; when I heard the words I quoted above.

I have been digging up history in this part of the world for almost fifty years now.  I’ve become old and bent.  My skin is like that of a lizard, dry and scaly, with brown spots.  I’ve loved being naked in the sun and it has left its marks on my body but I don’t care.  He was my lover and I cherish his touch still.  I haven’t become famous.  No best seller came from my notes; no following.  People came here to dig with me, and left to seek fame and fortune.  Some managed it, returning to tell me about it.  Some even provided funds so I could remain here, on my wind-swept plateaus digging up ghost stories; me, the crazy Canadian who should have been more at home on the snowy wilds of northern Canada, than here.

To the local people, I am “loca perdida” or the crazy one, though many come just to be with me, or to listen to my stories.  They come to get me sometimes, either with a jeep, or even a donkey, and take me to a village feast so they can hear some of my stories about their ancient peoples.  They seem to have no difficulty believing me, and I have wondered about that.  Do they also listen in time? They “pay” me in food, or in new blankets for my tents or shelters.  Good people, all of them.  I’ve always felt safe here; not sure I could have managed that in cities where people crowd unhappily together, hardly ever getting to know each other though rubbing shoulders every day.  How sad is that life, I think.

Here I remain.  Here I belong for my body’s time being.  Here I taught myself to listen in time and it is here that I will die so another archaeologist, another time listener, can find bits and pieces of my presence in this place and unearth my own story – a story that will have meaning only to her and the few who carry our vision of living in time.

How I wish I could express, in words, how blessed my life has been and how much I look forward to new digs out there in the stars, knowing that when I sit down and look up I will see more stars.

A Difficult but Necessary Matter of Balance

 (thoughts from    ~burning woman~   by Sha’Tara)

I haven’t had much time for blogging lately, being as they say, busy.  But surprisingly, I’ve had time, perhaps too much time, to think about this world, about its overall condition and where it is heading, apparently heedless and unaware.  I know this is a judgment forming an opinion, but not once in my entire life of 70 years has my sense of where things are going ever been wrong.  It’s like a compass in my mind, something I can “see” and rely on entirely, basing my personal movements on it, knowing when to “hold and when to fold” as the song goes.

I feel massive waves of sorrow passing over me time and again, triggered by many encounters: a baby in its mother’s arms; an old man hunched over waiting to safely cross a busy street; a homeless lady holding a sign saying, ‘Please buy my CD, I’m hungry’ and displaying a CD she probably found in a dumpster – (she got lucky: I saw her and I chose to believe her despite all the propaganda against her) or even moved to a helpless stop by the wind’s choreography of tree branches not yet covered in leaves.  A house hunched behind a sagging gate; a rusting sign from a business that went broke years before…

Have you ever just “thought” about “the world” and had tears well in your eyes until they started flowing down your cheeks?  Closed your eyes and brought your hands together as if in prayer, though you don’t pray?  Then thinking, ‘Do I want to be here?’ and knowing the answer is ‘No, I don’t want to feel this, this way, connected to this chaos of ignorance, of pain, of apparent mindlessness.  I don’t want to be the stranger any longer; to not be able to speak to the trees, the birds, the clouds.  I’m tired of just feeling and finding it so terribly difficult to harness those feelings; to draw intelligence, awareness, understanding, acceptance and meaningful teaching from them.  That is probably neither their purpose, nor task but I’m breaking the rules here.’

Life, I find, is like driving a street.  Some parts are smooth, some rough.  Some are safe and some, well, you may not get out of alive.  The truly sad part is, much of life is entered into without its overall costs duly assessed.  People are programmed, it seems, to repeat patterns and unable to stop and consider the risks, the odds, based on previous lives, previous experiences of elder people, or people in history.  ‘What are my chances this is going to work as I hope?’ Is not the question asked.  Plunge into the swamp, there are no alligators here!  But there are, disguised as floating logs.  You may have passed your swimming tests and won medals, but guaranteed: terror is but a splash behind you, and it isn’t virtual reality.

Too dark a vision?  Probably, but some of us have chosen a path that runs counter to that of the herd and we see that which the herd isn’t permitted to see, and would not want to see in any case.

Someone has to shed burning hot tears for the dying.  It’s a difficult but necessary matter of balance.

What’s Wrong with Today’s Earthians?

I wrote the following article in response to this one:

Over 4,000 Migrants Have Drowned In The Mediterranean This Year

Which can be read at:  https://talesfromtheloublog.wordpress.com/2016/11/29/over-4000-migrants-have-drowned-in-the-mediterranean-this-year/

Although my article is a response, it isn’t addressing the migrant article per se, but the nature of people in today’s world.  (Re-copied from “Tales from the Conspiratorium”)

What’s Wrong with Today’s Earthians?

Posted by Sha’Tara on November 29, 2016

The following can be considered a harsh response to the refugee plight touched upon in the original article but I’m not apologizing for it.  The following point desperately needs to be made.

Of course my heart goes out to these refugees, and I feel my own frustration, and anger. But deep down, as a student of history I’m reminded of those incredibly brave Russians who stuck it out in Stalingrad against the German onslaught and heroically held on against all odds, suffering unimaginable horrors throughout an unusually harsh winter.  They didn’t run.  So many didn’t run, they stood up to their would be conquerors and fought back by every means the human mind can conjure up.  They died in horrible conditions, of famine, of typhus, or frost bite, of untreated wounds.  They died by the thousands defending their homes and their honor as human beings.  How many people remember these people were offered a chance to escape, to withdraw deep into the wilds of Siberia?  They chose to stand and fight, men, women and children… mostly women and children!

It happened wherever the war raged.  It happened in Greece, in Italy, basically throughout Europe as it happened throughout the spread of Japanese terror troups, as it had happened in Spain during the Spanish civil war which the Fascists and Nazis won only because of overwhelming force garnered from arms and support received (as in the case of IS and other terror groups now in the Middle East) from the American military industrial complex.  (And let’s not forget it was the same American MIC that had armed the Japanese also.)

My own parents in the French Resistance during WWII didn’t attempt to flee to England though they lived on the coast with a very narrow channel between them and freedom, and they were fisher folk with access to boats, they could have easily done it.  No, they held their ground and they fought back.  For every German that was killed, the Germans retaliated by killing anywhere from ten to a hundred hostages.  Still, they persevered.  That’s how people were “made” in those pre-boomer, pre-entitlement years.

Isn’t that what you would do if groups of nut jobs invaded your country and began to systematically spread terror among your own people, perhaps even taking your daughters, lovers, wives as sex slaves, burning your homes, forcing your sons into their madness as suicide bombers, torturing and killing your neighbours?  Tell me that you wouldn’t fight back, even if it meant using broken shards of glass, throwing rocks or ripping their faces off with your bare hands!  I certainly know I would, tooth and nail, as there always comes that time when a certain kind of vile violence can only be countered with same because THERE IS NO LONGER A CHOICE.  Either you oppose them, you become like them or you are sheep for the shearing and slaughter, political footballs and hostages to self-serving psychopaths.

Excuse me, but is the word, “freedom” just another politically correct term now?

What’s wrong with these people that they can’t stand and fight for themselves but can only think of running to hopefully save their own skins?  I don’t get this.  Has the human race so quickly become dis-empowered, turned into cattle, as were the Jews in Nazi Germany, meekly and silently walking to their slavery and death in concentration camps without making any attempt to help themselves?  When you know you are going to die regardless, why whimper into it?  That’s just not normal, nor natural!  What’s wrong with these people that they can only rely on power groups for their survival? Don’t they have a life, that innate rage to live free?  Are they drugged?

It isn’t just Syrians.  Look how few people are standing boldly against the DAPL predators and their government armed and legitimized supporters when the entire nation of free individuals should be standing with them, either at Standing Rock or in front of every capitol,  every corporate HQ’s and every bank that funds the “Damn All Pipe Lines” monstrosity.

There is a connection throughout these current events clearly showing that people in general have become mindless cowards, thralls on their way to abysmal slavery to State and Banksterism.  There is no more stand and fight, only run for your life or hunker down and wait for the storms to pass in the hope that they won’t affect you.  Is that THE sign that humanity knows it’s doomed already and has no heart left, sees no point in fighting back against oppression and oppressors everywhere?

Perhaps T.S. Eliot said it best in his poem, The Hollow Men, “This is the way the world ends Not with a bang but a whimper.”

Let’s Talk about War (Part 2)

   [thoughts from   ~burning woman~  ]

But the spirit of war haunted the land.  Here and there remained small groups who did not go back to the land but instead sought out and began to reclaim the old technology of their gods.  These were led by the Nephilim, a race of “giants” (the term applies equally to their size as well as their superior intelligence) resulting from breeding between the ‘gods’ and cloned proto-human females.  They remembered enough to re-start earth-based civilization and the rest is history.  The driving force of the Nephilim leadership was their warlike nature and like the “gods” their forebears, completely lacking in empathy.  They were sociopaths to their very core. (Remember that when you wonder about your current Earthian leadership.) Serious leadership among even today’s Earthians can only be held by legitimate descendants of Nephilim rulers or “blue bloods.”

The Nephilim built fortified cities and engaged in systematic plundering of the planet.  They developed militaries and weaponry to hunt down the hunter-gatherers, enslaving them and taking their children and females as trophies and spoils of war.  Once the war was launched (but of course it hadn’t stopped: it had been brought to the planet by the gods and they’d left the seeds of it in the minds of the Nephilim and the programmed Earthians) it could never be stopped.  City-states, nascent nations and empires went at each other and since writing was invented, recorded history shows how that went.

So much fighting and death on one world alerted and brought in the Peace Makers.  These came from outside the confines of this universe.  You don’t need to know their provenance, it wouldn’t make any sense to you because, even if you were able to make yourselves believe in such entities you’d want to believe they were sent by your “gods” to help you.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Your “gods” hate and despise you.  Suffice to say, the Peace Makers were few in numbers – they always are.  They infiltrated temples, learning centers and even the political arena. Their goal was to expand the awareness of the species, introducing it to the concept of peace; of a state of being without external conflict.  They also introduced the concept of love.  But because both “peace” and “love” are absolute values, the proto-humans were incapable of comprehending their significance (they still cannot).  And the leadership, of course, was adamantly and violently opposed to any and all efforts expended to help the species by the Peace Makers.  (Good to remember that as well.)

The Peace Makers trained some humans into the greater “mysteries” of peace and love but these would-be spiritual leaders simply “lowered” the bar, re-writing the concepts as relative values instead of absolute.  Peace and love not only became bastardized in both meaning and value, they inevitably became exclusive.  Thus, even with peace and love being bandied about loudly and furiously at times, nothing could ever change and war continued to feed civilization’s frenzy.

To recap: you are not about to plunge into “another” world war.  If you continue on the current path you will ignite and suffer the horrors of a third “global battle” – not a war.  You are already at war.  You were always at war and you will continue to be at war until you change your mind; until you re-invent yourselves; until you reject all aspects of violence “against” anyone or anything.

The people who introduced you to the concepts of love and peace weren’t idiots.  They knew you were capable of understanding what those stood for.  But they had no illusions that you would bend every mental effort in that direction: it’s not how you were made.

Your initial programming which is in your soul implant, is to be attracted to violence; to respond to every violent attack with same.  The male of your species was particularly designed to be selfish, greedy, aggressive, competitive, bullying, controlling and sexually insatiable.   They made you so you would thrill at all forms of violence.  Raping women and slaughtering their children in front of their eyes were one of the very first “bonuses” of fighting wars.  The slaves, gold, jewellery, lands and cattle, those belonged to your lords.  They gave you violent sports as entertainment when you were in danger of waxing philosophical and becoming soft.  Your mentality always leans towards mob violence.  Your militaries are just controlled forms of mob response to lust of conquest or perceived threat. That’s the only way your gods could be certain that no matter how horrible your conditions, you would fight for them without qualms; without thinking the right or wrong of it.  They set the ball bouncing, and that ball, well, it just keeps on bouncing.  It’s bouncing higher and higher every day.

Now your numbers are over seven billions – an insane number, far beyond your planet’s limited capability to sustain; far in excess of your natural limits to growth.  Only your questionable alien and planet-destroying technology makes it possible to keep your numbers on their exponential growth curve.  Without technology; with the least little glitch that could kill your computerized systems across your cities, on your transportation grids (particularly in the air), your numbers would plummet and as horror piled upon horror your final downfall would (and will) see your numbers down to around a billion, give or take.

War will only account for a small percentage of your fall in numbers however.  Most of your coming generations will succumb to various anthropogenic, very negative planetary changes; lack of potable water; disease-laden air; mutated GMO foods that will eat your internal organs as well as destroy any wild plants or animals you may hope to survive on; dead oceans, seas and lakes and nuclear radiation.  They will suffer general immune system breakdowns now being deliberately introduced by vaccines and drugs mandated by your warped leadership whom you still trust because they’re making you feed on your own fears.

And your wars will continue for as the pressure mounts your competitive programming will give rise to more fear.  Your anger at, and hate of refugees and other “aliens” will peak into genocidal madness.  Like your “gods” before you, you will unleash your weapons of mass destruction against each other and destroy your own living space.  As these things happen you will never understand how they were completely preventable.

They are preventable, for a very limited time.  But you cannot comprehend that all of this mayhem, madness, and death is the work of one individual; that blame is just an excuse; that each one of you is directly responsible for the continuation of “The War” because you simply don’t want to, thus cannot, believe that you can stop it.

Not as a collective: your programming will immediately cut in to prevent that, but as an individual.  Individualism is your programming’s Achilles’ heel.  Your designers made you so you would only understand collective work, how to function in groups, mobs, controlled collectives, from your nuclear “family” to your empires.

The Peace Makers gave each of you a key to turn off the programming.  That is your individual mind.  That is the power of a human being and when you learn to use your key, you too will become human.  Empathetic and humane to a fault.  But until you accept yourself as an individual, different, separate and unlike any other individual; thinking, talking and acting as a self-empowered, self-motivated and compassionate individual, nothing can change for you.  You will continue to feed the machine of war and it will continue to destroy you, cycle after cycle.

Generation after generation, you choose war.  You choose to believe that by killing you can solve life problems and yet you cannot “see” how the more death you inflict, the more life becomes your enemy, and you become life’s enemy.  You, as you are currently, as a collective, are a  disease to be eradicated from this world, and from all memory.  Is that what you really want?  To die; to condemn your own children to certain death because becoming an individual seems so weak?  How little you understand the concept of power!

Let’s Talk about War (Part 1)

                [thoughts from   ~burning woman~  ]

(Note:  This is a five page essay.  I decided to break it up into two parts of approximately two and a half pages each.)

Preamble: for those who find the following confusing, let me remind you that I often “channel” information.  When that happens, you will find that instead of “we” I use the “you” to let you know that this information isn’t something I (the entity known as  ~burning woman~  ) am making up as I go along, but information being given to me via thought-forms which I learned to transcribe into Earth languages many decades ago.

It’s not actually “channeling” as such, it’s received information meant to be given to anyone I feel may want to know, or … needs to  know?  You can also think of it as a prophecy, in the classic historical sense.  And you can, of course, also label the following as the twisted thoughts of a very sick mind.  However you look at it, it won’t change any of the facts, or information contained herein.

War is a topic that is very much on earth peoples’ minds these days, primarily because earth’s “most powerful” empire has reached it’s zenith and is helplessly, almost carelessly, careening into external and internecine warfare preceding it’s final throes as a world power.  History is repeating itself and because earth has shrunk so much due to population expansion and speed of information, the entire planet is feeling the shock waves of yet another imperial collapse.  The sharks are gathering and the feeding frenzy has already begun.

So, let me talk to you about war.  Contrary to Earthian popular belief, history doesn’t recount wars, either started, fought, lost or won.  What your history tells is stories of series of battles fought over the millennia.  You haven’t been fighting wars but battles.  Since the inception of your civilization (there is only one) you’ve been at war.  In fact every attempt at giving a new face, or new location, to your civilization has been predicated upon war.  No Earthian civilization is possible without war; it begins and ends in war.

You will insist that you have fought great and terrible wars, for example WWI and WWII.  Read your history more carefully and you realize that WWI did not end, it went into a short hiatus for adjustment purposes, proxy realignments and materiel re-stocking then picked up again bolstered by much advanced and deadlier technology.  No sooner was WWII ostensibly ended that another “war” opened up: the “cold war” only it wasn’t all that cold.  There was Korea, then Vietnam.  But those were only the main ones that concerned the powerful West. Revolutions and civil wars raged on many continents.  Bloodbaths in Africa, Central and South America, Malaysia.  Purges in China and the USSR.  Barely mentioned in your mainstream media, lost to your short-term memory.

The real war you are fighting began the very day you decided to kick-start your own civilization but it would never be your own, you didn’t invent it, you cloned it, over and over again, always with the same futile results.  You may shake your head here, because this makes no sense to you.  It makes no sense because you never see the whole picture.  The critical missing information is, you don’t know where you come from; who you are as a species; nor where you’re going.  You have no solid foundation for your existence, just speculation.

Let me give you an infinitesimal synopsis of your actual (not official) history.  Roughly, based on on-going interpretation of archaeological finds, a half a million years ago an aggressive complement of ‘space pirates’ (you know them as your gods, or God) came upon this solar system.  They tried out some of its worlds, finally settling on earth.  They built bases here, there are many remnants of those.

Why earth?  Earth had minerals, air, water, and abundance of wildlife to kill for food and pleasure.  So it began.  Over time, say after one hundred thousand years, these pirates found that as pleasant as earth was, its environment was inimical to them.  They experienced an aging process which caused these very long-lived sentients to face physical death and their highly sophisticated medical knowledge incapable of countering the problem.  So their workers on earth refused to continue under those conditions.  They rebelled, that is, they had a general strike, and had to be returned to the home planet.

The minerals needed extracting, particularly gold, highly prized for its beauty, but also necessary to maintain a viable environment on the pirates’ wandering planet which some call Nibiru.  Gold stabilized the environment – I can’t go into the science of that. What is relevant here is that they were in desperate need of workers acclimatized to earth whom they could control, that is, over whom they would have power of life and death at all times, hence the decision to clone a breed of sentients using DNA from a local bipedal race of proto-humans (earth-adapted creatures known as Neanderthals) and mixing it with their own so the new slave would have speech capability and a rudimentary understanding of sophisticated technology and ability to learn basic commands.  So they invented ‘man’ and put the creature to work in their mines, their launch pads and their fields, gardens and homes.  They also cloned amazingly beautiful women as sex toys, all part of the story.

Over time, the pirates had a falling out and began warring with each other, something they indulged in on their home world, hence their desperate need for remedial resources.  The proto-human clones were re-programmed (you call it brainwashing) and trained for warfare.  They were used extensively in these endless resource and land claim wars and while the A’s (aliens) were few, the humans were proliferating so much it didn’t matter how many of those were killed: there were always more.  The wars intensified with no clear winners or losers, as is always the nature of war, and finally the pirates’ civilization collapsed in nuclear explosions and cataclysmic effects of alien weaponry and they abandoned the planet.  The very first civilizing empire on earth collapsed.  (It wasn’t quite that simple, but it suffices for the purpose of this article.)

Left to their own devices, without the leadership and technology of their gods, the Earthian creatures suffered terribly from famine and diseases and for a time lingered in hopelessness and died in vast numbers.  Atavism came to help the remnants and gradually most of the survivors returned to the wilderness and learned how to survive and even live very good lives without a technology their forebears had not been able to exist without.  They knew how to make basic tools and weapons with wood and stones and they had fire.  These you call hunter-gatherers. (Leaving out huge amounts of fascinating information here because my topic is war.)

The Power Pizza has Three Slices (however you slice it)

                   [thoughts from    ~burning woman~    by Sha’Tara]

I felt the need to write a follow-up to the essay, “How far back must we go?”  So here’s a bit of an explanation and fill-in using the Earth world view I was taught to see by “the Teachers” some years back.  Having no argument with their explanations, I present that world view here as my own which of course it now is.

The forces of mind control and repetitive actions due to programming, come in threes.  I first clued into this from my doctrine-heavy Christian upbringing in which the three main Powers were a godhead of a father, a son and a holy spirit.  This is dogma and must be believed in when one is confirmed in the Catholic Church.  There are little variations to this dogma in any other Christian cult.  It’s the basis for the whole faith.  This awareness explains why Christianity was able to grow so rapidly into a world-dominating religion and remains the leading force of religious power even today.  Remove one or two of these “persons” from Christianity and the house of cards collapses into meaninglessness, much as Islam is currently experiencing – they don’t have a Trinitarian god.  Keep this in mind: Power comes in threes.

This isn’t about religion.  This is about daily Earthian reality and how it all works.  Basically, all of earth people’s lives are circumscribed by faith.  You have to believe “in” certain dogmas (in science and economics they’re called “theories”) for the System to work – and by that I don’t mean it must make sense, it does not, never did, never will – but it certainly works well, just as well as did the Spanish inquisition.  There is purpose behind it all, and that purpose is the exercise of Power Over.  The less the number of power holders and the greater the number of oppressed, the more Power accumulates to the holders of it.  No elitist power, from the would-be gods down through the hierarchy, is ever manufactured.  All of it is forcefully extracted from billions of victims and slaves of the Power Holders.

How do they do this?  How do they steal your power?  Through lies, disinformation and the blatant, deliberate spreading of fear, which leads to mindless hate, which leads to wars and genocide.  I just watched “High Plains Drifter” with Clint Eastwood.  An old story of greed, violence and retribution.  Basic story: “The Stranger” who never gives his name rides into the town of Lago as a drifter.  Challenged, he shoots three gunmen and is hired to protect the townspeople from three other gunmen due to be released from jail and certain to come calling for being railroaded by the town’s leaders.  Unbeknownst to the leaders, “The Stranger” is in town to avenge the killing of an honest sheriff by the entire town in cahoots with a mining outfit stealing gold from protected government land (a reservation?).  To achieve his ends, “The Stranger” proceeds to sow dissension, suspicion, fear and hate among the townspeople who are all guilty of collusion in the death of their sheriff.  In the end, the town is destroyed, its leaders killed and the three gunmen who had been hired to kill the sheriff are killed by “The Stranger”.  Then he rides out of town, mission accomplished.

We like these kinds of simplistic stories where the lone “good guy” wins against impossible odds, and the villains are exposed, jailed or killed.  But that is not what happens on earth, quite the opposite.  We slave for the villains; we support them, raise statues to them, give them peace prizes, name towns, universities, streets after them.  We vote them into office so they can further oppress and kill us with endless wars, meaningless labour, manufactured poverty, denial of basic justice and health care.  And we give them all our money and more because we fear each other more than we hate them. This we know.  Yet we cannot, ever, escape this destiny of subservience.  If we get to hate them enough to overthrow them we immediately replace them with characters of the same mindset or even worse.

I said the forces of oppression come in threes.  These are what I call the gods: Religion, the State and Money.  Childishly simplistic concepts that shouldn’t ever see the light of day outside a sand box or playpen.  Yet they rule the world (and much more!) and are never seen for what they are.  And what keeps them in power?  Three other very basic concepts: faith, hope and love.  These are even presented as virtues in the Christian New Testament: 1Co. 13:13 “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”  Indeed, you could attach faith to Religion; hope to the State apparatus; love to Money: three for three.  An ever winning combination for the Powers.

How desperately Earthians need to believe such things are true by simple description.  Yet the same people do everything in their power to deny every assertion ever made about love particularly.  How many people stop dead in their tracks and ask themselves this honest question: why doesn’t love work?  No one, because the answer would be devastating.  Love’s power is to destroy what faith and hope pretend to build up.  Yes, I say pretend, because they too are lies.  They uphold a triumvirate of endless, circular oppression.  Faith says, believe it even when every common sense in your mind says it’s a lie.  Hope then says, stick with this belief and things will work out for the good in the end.  Love says, if it feels good do it.  Don’t think about it.  Don’t reason it.  Just do it.  That could be the perfect motto for “free enterprise” capitalism.

A brief side trip with love.  In a small US town (Wichita Falls, Texas) earlier this month a 20 year old man kills a 13 year old girl he was obsessively “in love with” by shooting her 14 times.  Ain’t love grand.  Going back a few millennia, for God, love meant wiping out all sentient air-breathing living creatures on an entire world… “Ge. 6:7 So the LORD said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth — men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air — for I am grieved that I have made them.”  I know others who love the world as much as God does.  Monsanto comes to mind… in fact the whole military industrial complex just loves the world to bits, literally, with its chemicals, cluster bombs and nukes.

Anyone with a grain of common sense and an iota of knowledge of history would be able to see through these forces of oppression.  But of course the Powers don’t allow people to draw such a conclusion.  There is a powerful programming at work that maintains a permanent delusion that says change comes from switching allegiance between the Powers.  For a time, Religion rules the world.  Then the State rules.  When both have demonstrated their utter corruption, Money comes to the fore and forces all and sundry to worship at its altars.  Bankers and “business” now rule the world and push for globalism through oppression and bloodshed so they can gain ever more power.  Now you can see what corruption actually is, but it’s too late to save your civilization.  When the last head of the triumvirate of power loses it as we are experiencing now, that is the end of the civilization the gods raised, murdered with and finally plundered to the bare bones.

Now some people are beginning to clue in that Money in the guise of capitalism is just another corrupt Power.  But what do they talk about as a replacement?  As a counter force?  Some speak of people coming together under a “loving” deity, let’s call her “Gaia” or some such nice motherly name, and some continue to believe that Government can be cleansed of its corruption, can rein in the power of Money and bring some kind of justice and peace to the world.  And for some, Money will solve everything, it just needs to be applied in the right places.  Never mind that these ideas have never worked.  Never mind that it’s impossible to rid any Power of its internal rot.  Logic and common sense do not rule here: faith, hope and love do.  And there are only three possible choices that people as collectives can pick from: Religion, Government or Money.  The Power Pizza has three slices.  These may vary in size but there is, and can only be, but three slices.  And, according to the status quo (which public education reinforces so everybody will believe this) nothing of consequence exists outside the outer circumference of the Power Pizza.

Behold your gods, O Earth!

How far back must we go?

In my introduction on this blog I wrote: “I think that every problem is an invitation to all of us to work out the solution, and I believe that no problem exists that does not contain a solution within itself. All we are asked to do is unravel it. Life is like a Rubik’s Cube. There is a solution, it’s just a willingness to work at it until it emerges.”

Taking it from “now” here’s a bit of reality check:

Source: Researchers Say Society Is Doomed. Can We Save Ourselves in Time?undergroundreporter.org – Christina Sarich – September 7, 2016

Clues unearthed by archaeologists suggest that our society is doomed for collapse. Researchers from University College London and the University of Maryland recently studied 2,378 archaeological sites from Neolithic Europe to discover some tell-tale signs indicating when an ecosystem was shifting into instability. After looking at the data, it seems that every single civilization gave clues to its own impending demise — including our own.

Signs that a society is about to collapse, or undergo a massive reorganization, included fragility in systems that had undergone ‘slowing down’ or ‘flickering’ from impacts such as disease, warfare, resource degradation, or crop failure.

The researchers describe ‘flickering’ as a change in a society’s response to these perturbations resulting in the society becoming caught in a socio-ecological trap that reinforces the same bad behaviour that caused the issues to begin with, and prevents adaptation with new action.

Every time a society ‘flickers’ it loses recovery time, and you could consider it as moving closer to destruction. The team found that these flickering signs signified an eventual demise of the society, all showing up well before the actual collapse.

Undeniably our current world is severely handicapped by serious and intensifying problems.  I don’t think I need to name them, we all know what we’re facing, as a global society, and as individuals.  It is my nature to seek solutions to problems and the more obvious those are, the more I find myself focusing, perhaps even fixating, upon them.  “Find a solution… Think!”  And it’s what my mind does.

It has been said that necessity is the mother of invention.  What I’ve been learning lately is that “invention” need not be a strictly forward motion: in looking for solutions it can move backward.  And this is where I’m at: how far back must man, as a species, go to solve his current life-threatening problems?  To explain that backward move, it is necessary to delve into the main cause of man’s current crisis.

The common thought is that solutions are found in new, forward-looking discoveries.  For every action (which comes from a previous reaction) there is a new reaction.  Thus the clumsy reciprocal “chug… chug… chug…” movement of civilization moves itself forward and each time, like the old coal fired steam trains, the machine picks up speed.  A new “disease” (caused by a previous reciprocal movement) gets a new drug treatment which causes more problems to be met with more drugs.  That has been the way, and it’s the accepted way.  Except that it doesn’t work, and never did, because there never was any track built past the tunnel.  But that’s all beside the point as long as we chose, as a collective, to exist in total denial of history and observation and believe that any “new and improved whatever” would solve any current crisis, or make any current burden easier to bear.  Thus we blindly entered the age of science as god; the age of technocracy: of technology, of robotics, of machines, of medical interventions and heaping drug prescriptions, of faster communication and travel, of ever-expanding cities to house an exponentially growing population.  We entered the age of top-down, system driven, totalitarian collectivization and we were taught in public school, in college, by the media and the corporate world that its called progress.  Therefore we progressed into a progressively worsening societal condition, right up to the end of the track which in today’s parlance we call “the unsustainable society.”

In 1972, yes, that far back, the Club of Rome and others commissioned computer simulations dealing with unrestrained growth versus availability of space and resources.

From Wikipedia, (excerpt): “The Limits to Growth” is a 1972 book about the computer simulation of exponential economic and population growth with finite resource supplies. The original version presented a model based on five variables: world population, industrialisation, pollution, food production and resources depletion. These variables are considered to grow exponentially, while the ability of technology to increase resources availability is only linear.

And a footnote to the article:  With few exceptions, economics as a discipline has been dominated by a perception of living in an unlimited world, where resource and pollution problems in one area were solved by moving resources or people to other parts. The very hint of any global limitation as suggested in the report The Limits to Growth was met with disbelief and rejection by businesses and most economists. However, this conclusion was mostly based on false premises.  – Meyer & Nørgård (2010).

It’s important to understand what “exponential growth” versus “linear growth” mean.  You’ve all seen graphs showing exponential growth: that smooth line at the bottom that begins to rise ever so slowly, then higher and higher as each segment doubles itself until the line shoots right off the top of the chart.  Linear on the other hand shows a steady growth rate, predictable, logical, sustainable.  Man’s civilization today is of the exponential kind, and we’re very close to the top of the chart.  So close that the system sustaining the growth is failing – AT EVERY POINT – and not just on some.  We’ve not only reached the limits to growth, we have surpassed them and now we can’t stop our train from shooting off the end of the tunnel of progress we created from our lusts and greed and passion for the cheap and easy; the entertaining.

Now for a very, very brief history lesson beginning with a question: which of mankind’s many civilizations not only succeeded, but continued on and remains “operative” and growing to this day?   And the answer is… none.  Not a single one.  Each civilization that rose from nothing, or from the wrack and ruin of another has in its turn collapsed utterly.

A reminder from none other than the famous poet, Percy Shelley:

 “Ozymandias”
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
‘My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!’
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

What better comparison could one make of this current prideful and shallow civilization than to the boastful one of the great king “Ozymandias?”  Oh yes, it is said that science with the faithful and uncanny help of technology can, and will, solve all of man’s current problems.  Stupid to worry, to be concerned, about such things as climate change which “Right” thinking people know to be a hoax; about over population (why, the earth can sustain twice our current numbers!); availability of food and sustainability of edible crops (what about GMO’s and fish farms, etc.?) and simple living space (ah, hmm, well, we can live closer together, build higher highrises and we can go live on the moon, or on Mars with a bit of technological fixing!) and wars (a one-world government will fix that, along with a one-world economy!)

Wonderfully childish reasoning that is desperately held onto by billions of desperate individuals: desperate for things to continue as they are; desperate to ignore, hide, mock, the reality that is threatening to destroy not only most of mankind, but much of his living environment and those “others” nature symbiotically “intended” for space to be shared with.  Simply put, quality has given way to quantity – it’s always what happens when values are determined by numbers – and numbers only work when fed more quantities of numbers.  Exponential growth, everywhere: the terminal cancer of this civilization.

Somewhere way back in pre-historic times man “happened” on this world.  I really don’t know how that came about and I’m not a strong proponent of Darwinist evolutionary theories, while holding the creation concept equally at arms length, but man “was” here.  From what I gather this “man” creature was living a natural life on a natural world.  And as we observe of other animals, all was, relatively speaking, well with that.

Then something amazing and terrible happened: man came face to face with a choice.  There was a fork on the road of life, the left continuing the natural pattern of life, and the right promising a much brighter, exciting, morally and technically uplifting future.  Man was offered the fruit of civilization.  Some saw it as a marvellous opportunity for advancement and took that path.  Most did not, but it would be “civilized” man that would rise to conquer and subdue the earth and all that dwell therein.  Man became “Ozymandias” the king of kings, ruler of all creation.  Then one civilization after another rose suddenly, then fell slowly until hardly anything remained, and then another took its place, or surfaced somewhere else on the planet and “great” works were accomplished; marvels were created and built, then that too collapsed utterly, leaving only remnants in stone or bits and pieces of clay to mark the passage of civilized man.  And on and on it went, until history began to be recorded on clay tablets and parchments, then in books and now in digital information.  This is but another of those suddenly risen only to fail, civilization.  And no, this civilization isn’t too big to fail – quite the contrary: it is too big to sustain itself and must fail.

This is about a solution to our current dilemma.  Believing as I do that nothing can fix this toppling purposeless global civilization build on nothing but exploitation, oppression and bloodshed, my solution is eloquent by its simplicity: man must (not should) return to that pre-historic fork in the road and turn back to the left hand path, putting a clear sign on the right hand one that says: “This is the path to hell.  It is forbidden for man to enter therein for this path can only be sustained by oppression and bloodshed, that is, by death.”

Yes: man must give up his pride filled attempts at creating new civilizations and return to his proper, natural, non-exploitative roots.  The collapse of this civilization, since it is global in scope, is likely man’s last chance at redeeming himself; at rediscovering humility in compassion, in sharing, in becoming truly a human being to live in peace and harmony with all others on this little world.   No amount of “civilizing” can do that for man, only a return to nature.
