The Portal of Impressions

[thoughts from ~burning woman~ by Sha’Tara]

We step through the Portal of Impressions and the wait is short to our heart feeling things we can know about only in this place.

I was reading just now, and it opened the Portal, oh, just for an instant but long enough for my curious mind to slip in, taking me in also. Down the rabbit hole.

Here I am, amongst Impressions. They make no sound, they just move about like smoke in a light breeze. Heavy. My reading must have attracted them.

Main impression, I’m about to die. I’m not surprised at this, it is something expected, perhaps even anticipated. Still, it manifests as heavy.

Death is a pretty definitive event. I have often wondered if preparing for it is better, or wiser, than simply ignoring it and letting it take its course.

I don’t like surprises, least of all one as portentous as death. I don’t want to be caught unawares, foolishly believing I have time when it’s all been used up.

Time and death, they are accomplices as well as liars. Time tells us we have him for all the world. Death hides in the shadows smiling at our gullibility.

Amongst Impressions nothing is hidden. All is exposed but there is no chronology here. Pick and choose, pick and choose. Listen to your heart, it knows.

Impression of imminent death passes. The silence remains. The heart beats unconcerned. I turn and the Portal opens. I walk out into the silent moonlight.

Everything falls back into place. The Mad Hatter is still in the White House. The Queen of Hearts remains at Buckingham Castle. I’m the same.

By “him” I assume you mean DDT? I’d have to drag him down the rabbit hole, turn him into a playing card (Joker?) and have the Queen of Hearts pass her usual judgement. “Off with his head” has a nice ring to it.
If you mean something else, I pre-apologize and you can ‘splane?

But Death could also be a woman! I love that idea. Contradictory, because women bring life into the world! Check out my latest post if you have a moment…getting record hits!

This is a reply to George. None of your latest comments allowed me to “reply” not did they show up in my emails – and thank you WordPress, once again – so I’m replying here, this way. I got the “Death” thing, and yes, for me Death is a woman. Time we realized and accepted that Death is not termination, but a passage or transition: from life, to a new life. I’ve also read through the avalanche of comments on your blog: amazing, and congratulations for the success of your story, George. Keep your steam up!

I have “stopped for death” before but she waved and passed on by. I’ve been riding a “ship of death” for many years on the Fraser river – it’s called a kayak! Seriously though, I doubt Charon allows his passengers to have much say on where he causes them to land after crossing the Styx. I must assume the destination is on the ticket one hands over when boarding. I can say this: I’ve done all I can, or know how, to acquire the right ticket. When death comes to close my eyes, still my heart and hold my hand, I shall, just this once, trust in the process, having reminded myself that it is after all just another transition. I got this far; I have many past lives as remembrances; I have seen into the future. I feel strangely confident that my port of call has been well chosen, and not entirely by myself.

No I just have to remind myself and others that we must not set too much importance on ourselves because we are part of a huge scene perhaps far bigger than we can imagine. The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam was translated by Edward Fitzgerald who rather liked his tipple hence the famous priceless line ‘ For I was never deep in anything but wine ‘.

I dunno, Kertsen, I can imagine pretty big! I can imagine having visited other universes, having spent time in the “Nexus” – that being a “non place” between universes. Sure it’s dangerous, if one is egotistical, to have too much self importance. At the same time most people relinquish their own importance to teachers, bosses, rulers who are way more ignorant and often beastly. Yet once you give up your own “importance” in favour of some other, you are then a slave. Are we a part of something bigger, or are we misinformed? Mind is not measured in mathematical terms; it is as big or as small as it chooses to be. I, as a mind, choose to be at the very least equal to anything else “out there” without being superior unless the situation demands that I express in such a way. When I encounter ignorance I know I am superior and I must demonstrate that.

What can I say ?you are a bold outspoken person and the last sentence made me shudder. I don’t believe ignorance is confined to any group in particular and we can be no cleverer than the age permits, or our circumstances allow.

‘ Where ignorance is bliss ’tis folly to be wise.’ There’s a truism. Increasingly in this western world, ignorance is becoming bliss, and expected to rule. Mentally, the lowest common denominator is expected to take the day. That’s why I don’t vote, and I consider myself to be without a nationality. I can’t be a party to the western “democratic” farce. I never attended kindergarten, but if I had I’m sure I would have graduated. Not so sure about a lot of people I encounter.

We are born to be moral and thereby comes the tension and worry in our lives. True bliss can only be synonymous with living in the moment of enjoyment and is the reason childhood is looked upon with such earnest longing by many adults. There are far grimmer farces than democracy at least it gives us elbow room.

More like a black hole opens for an instant, and we (our essence or life force) is instantly transported to its intended destination. We cannot know when, or where, but hints (false alarms perhaps) can get us prepared for going.
Shame that we cannot remember any of it once the journey starts.

Thank you for your comment Colette. Black hole or portal between dimensions or realities, if we pursue this then some day we will evolve enough mentally to understand the process. For now, suffice that we can take advantage of these “worm holes” of the mind and slip down our rabbit holes. For me the trick was to make these journeys a priority in my life. Whatever I’ be doing, if a portal opened up I’d slip into it, quite automatically. And what does it matter since no earth time is involved? I could be enjoying one of those experiences while driving and nothing happened; no sense of disorientation. I’ve also had people/entities from those dimensions suddenly materialize near, or beside me, visible but not material. The other trick was to force myself to normalize these events, not consider them as odd, or products of imagination. Most, if not all, of our major social problems come from the programming that constantly warns against allowing any reality other than this material one to impinge on our consciousness. We are only allowed to wander out of our earth prison through myths, fantasies and fictions – as long as we don’t start believing that any such could be real and we dutifully return to our cell once we’re done reading or watching the movie. Yet it is all real. When I read Roger’s “Patchwork Warriors” I knew these places, events and individuals were real. How else could I have interacted with them?

Oh I don’t know about others, but I remember and add those experiences to my collection. The mind is the wave/particle quantum physics of earth are so fascinated and confused by; we are the link between the cosmos and this material reality we have dubbed “the Universe.” “Be mindful of the Force always, young Jedi.”

10,000 revolutions of the Earth around the Sun should be just about sufficient to skim the entire Solar System, so much to see!

Someday you will remember that line, long after you’ve seen all there is to see in this minuscule solar system. You will be sitting on the side of a crimson mountain appearing to rise endlessly into the skies and you will know you have crossed into another Universe. For a moment you will smile, perhaps wistfully for that long past innocence. Then you will set off again, flying across the great valleys to another mountain, wondering.

That’s the sort of notion I had in mind Sha’ Tara. Though the scientific in me will want to spend so much examining every nook and crevice in the Solar System. So much to see and learn about!

And the one-eyed man is king in the land of the blind… And oh, there are oh so many blind beings on this Earth that we call home… for now.
It is the pain of birth that causes us to forget what came before, but what comes before is that which comes after, they are one and the same. Death is a portal, a very important one, but it usually leads to yet another birth, and a new period of learning…
Yeah, I’m behind the times, someone on Word Press is apparently having lots of fun. For me it started by someone de-following Jill and I from each other, and just this morning I discovered I had been de-followed from S’T. Clicking the “following” button brought a torrent of un-read posts, and I am playing catch-up once again. Or is that “catsup,” or even “cats up,” cuz yeah, my cat is up despite it being only 6:20 on Saturday morning here in far northern Alberta, a comment direct to you, S’T. If you kayak down the Fraser River we are not that far from each other, as the west wind blows.
But having said all that, this blog-thread has so many loose ends I would like to try to tie up, but every time I encounter a new one, it kicks an old one off the list. My old mind is not so resilient as before, and I lost my ability to multi-task when I got concussed back in 2010. My short-term memory has been shot since…
But I will never forget going through the wormhole that took me to the place dead beings go, twice in fact, just to prove to my “scientific-slanted mind” that the process was repeatable. And, yes, S’T, being prepared for death is all the rage out there, because despite the lack of time as we know it on Earth, there is still the need to heal if one is not ready when the etheric veil is crossed.
Wow, listen to me going all Aquarian on you guys. My apologies, but sometimes flowery phrases beget floury phases, and like that…
All I am really saying is reincarnation starts and stops in the same non-place as long as you remain involved in human time/space. I should know, I (that is my spiritual I, not my ego-I) have been resident here for some 3 billion years or so. And when I started here, lifetimes lasted a few seconds at most. I’d really hate to have to count how many incarnations I have gone through. But I say this not to brag, but only to show I have some experience at this thing we call life, and I am getting to the point I am bringing the learning from past lives with me into the present life, yet while I am here, even with that learning, I am still mostly cut off from that place that was/will be.
And for you, kertsen, these words: the size of the brain does not describe the size of the mind. A brain can be contained in a pea, but a mind can contain a million universes. It is just a matter of knowing how to open it up…

Neither, 300 kms north of PR, in High Level, just over 100 klicks from the NWT. How about you?

High Level, oh wow. I was raised a dozen miles south of PR, and when our hay crops failed we (well, the parents!) had to drive up to High Level for our hay supplies… or so I remember. Never been there myself. Now as you know, I live in the Lower Mainland of BC, practically on that dreaded 49th parallel, waiting for the official “Anschluss” declaration…

I am not native to High Level, I came here to work after graduating university at the ripe young age of 57. I took a government job as an addictions counsellor, but could not get along with any of the dictators who ran, permanently or temporarily, the office I worked out of. They had no interest in helping addicts, all they cared about was the statistic of how many people we sent to the 21 day treatment programs in Grande Prairie or Edmonton. The more people we sent, the better we looked Even if the same person was sent there 5 times, that counted as 5 different people. Once again, arithmetic failed me, numbers do lie.

Numbers always lie! The same games were played by our sales reps at the corp. I worked for, for 42 years until I retired in 2011. A directive would come down from head office demanding “numbers” in coolers, venders or displays, and suddenly you’d find a vending machine by a power pole in some guy’s yard – true that! Displays in “Mom & Pop” stores rivalling those in a Super Store, or in public places where they needed 24 hr. security to prevent theft. Coolers in private basements. Thousands of cases stashed away as “sold” in mini storage units or rented warehouses which when outdated had to be hauled out, each bottle and can drained by hand into the public sewer system and the containers recycled. We of the “service departments” watched and laughed. If nothing else, we were always guaranteed work by those shenanigans. And the numbers proudly flowed back to head office and the top brass was kept happy for a few months. Eat your heart out, Dr. Zeuss, capitalism (numbers) writes funnier stories.

Thanks for the comment. I’ll focus on this quote: ” being prepared for death is all the rage out there, because despite the lack of time as we know it on Earth, there is still the need to heal if one is not ready when the etheric veil is crossed.” That is so true and so not realized. Death isn’t a state, it’s an event, a passage, a transition. By using out-of-body techniques we can learn to experience death until it becomes something you’re good at and ready to do. A bit like driver training. Eventually you get your license and you’re on the wide open road again… The physical pain, the stoppage of breath, the necessary sudden detachments, these can be problematical for those inexperienced in death. Ask a passenger in coach to take over the controls of a Boeing 727 who’s never been in a pilot seat before, that’s death without proper preparation. To die properly and with dignity requires training. Contemplation of death, seems to me, is a vital exercise to accompany one’s life. Like remembering, or knowing, where the exits are and where one left the car while watching the movie.

An excellent description, S’T, and you never cease to amaze me in how you understand what I write. I’d almost have to say we are different yet simultaneous incarnations of the same cosmic mind. You could be me, had you lived my life, and conversely, had I lived your life, I could probably be you. Even as just a possibility, the concept is fabulously amazing to contemplate. And I will soon be contemplating it in print…
Meanwhile, S’T, my sister if I may call you that, for you are more like a sister to me than any of my female siblings, which says a lot to me, live well and be safe. I believe we have a lot more discoveries to make together, Feeding on each other should cause both our consciousnesses to raise, and I want to see where together we can grow to.
